Church Gathering - Covid-19
From October 4th, we will be meeting together on Sunday mornings at 10.30am at the CLC building. Our service will be open to church members and visitors. To attend on a Sunday church members will need to book a seat – a number of seats will be kept free for visitors.
Please note, it is going to be a very different experience following strict health and safety guidelines. There can’t be any singing, everyone will be required to wear face coverings, social distancing will take place (no hugging!), there won’t be refreshments and the number of seats will be smaller due to the 1m + distancing - so capacity will be limited.
Parents must ensure their children remain with them throughout the service time and afterwards and do not run around or play with others.
BEFORE YOU BOOK A PLACE PLEASE READ THE FOLLOWING GUIDANCE:
Test and Trace
On entry to the building a member of the welcome team will check that you have booked and that the relevant details are recorded for the NHS Test And Trace system. By booking a seat and attending one of our services you agree that your details may be shared with NHS Test And Trace in the event of a COVID-19 outbreak.
Everyone is required to wear a face covering for the duration of your time inside the building unless you are exempt. Please bring your own face covering with you to the service.
On entry to the building we have hand-sanitiser that you will be required to use.
If you are feeling unwell, please don’t come to the church building. Instead, we ask that you let us know so we can confidentially track if there has been any risk of transmission.
There will be a queuing system in place outside the church on the access ramp. Two metre distancing markers will be laid out. Please queue on the ramp and not on the pavement outside the church.
On entry to the building one of the welcome team will let you know where you have been allocated to sit. We will have marked out seating areas. We will also use a two chair distancing system (which is 1m +) for social distancing. All seating and social distancing measures will be clearly marked. We ask that you respect these rules for everyone’s safety.
There is a one way system in place in the CLC building to help prevent pinch points. Please follow the signs around the building.
These will be open for emergency use only. If your child needs to go to the toilet, we ask that you accompany them.
After you have visited the toilet we ask that you clean the area and we will provide products to enable you to do this.
Lighthouse and Children's Work
Currently we don’t have children’s work available on a Sunday. However the Lighthouse team is preparing a short video each week for the children to watch, engage with and see their leaders.
Giving to the Church
We continue to promote online giving during this time. If you would like to start giving and don’t know how to, then please speak to a welcome team member on your arrival.
For more information visit our giving page
. Thank you for your generous and faithful giving to the church.
To prevent transmission and in accordance with the government guidelines, we ask you not to sing when we gather. However there are many things that we can do as long as we maintain social distancing. While this may seem strange to many of us, worship is not just about singing – Romans 12 – ‘offer your bodies as living sacrifices’ it’s a chance to experience God’s love, to reflect, to meditate on Him.
We will not be serving refreshments after the service. Please bring your own water or drinks bottle with you if needed and remember to take it home with you afterwards.
After the Service
Everyone attending the service must leave the building straight away after the service has finished. Groups are not allowed to gather outside the church but must disperse promptly once outside.
If you have been diagnosed with or experienced symptoms of COVID-19 you must not come to the service. Likewise, if you have been in close contact with someone diagnosed or experiencing symptoms of COVID-19 please stay at home. In addition, if you have returned from international travel or been in close contact with someone who has returned from international travels in the last 14 days please stay at home.
Places MUST be booked in advance.
TO BOOK A SEAT:
Your Health and Safety is important to us and if these guidelines are not followed we reserve the right to ask you to leave the building.
You can book a seat for you and your family by following the link here. We will need your booking request by Thursday night before the weekend of the service. You will receive an Email on Friday confirming whether or not there is space for you on that particular week.
This booking process will need to be repeated each time you wish to attend a Sunday service.
In order for everyone to be given a chance to join a service, there is no guarantee that you will be able to attend church services on consecutive weeks.
Please don’t come on a Sunday if you haven’t booked. Only book a place that you will use so someone else doesn’t miss out.
If for any reason you are unable to attend after booking a place then please let the office know so we can give others a chance to join the service.
Doors will open 15 minutes before the service begins and we ask you arrive on time or we may refuse entry. Everyone must be in place seated and silent before the countdown to going live.
Thank you for your co-operation in this.
